Do you provide locks? Do you keep a key to my unit?

• You can provide your own lock, or you can purchase one from us. We do not keep a key to your unit - you have the only key, and you are the only person who can access your space.

 

Do I need insurance for my stored property?

• We do not provide insurance but recommend you have it.  Check with your homeowners or renters’ insurance to see if your stored property is covered by your policy. If you find that you do want insurance, we can provide you the name of an insurance carrier that specializes in self storage.

 

What should I NOT store at Portola Mini Storage?

• Common sense and state laws determine what can be stored. Since you alone have access to your space, do not store anything that needs a controlled environment. This would include live animals and plants, explosive or flammable items, toxic materials, food, or liquids. Do not tempt unwanted critters with food, candles, dried flowers or your favorite sweater.

 

What are your hours of operation?

•   You have a key to the gate so that you may access your unit 24 hours a day, 365 days a week.

 

How many units do you have and what range of storage unit sizes do you offer?

• We offer 80 units in many sizes, Visit our Storage Unit Sizes, Prices and Discounts page for specifics.   

  • 5' x 10'  Approximately 1 to 1.5 rooms of furniture. many boxes   

  • 10' x 10' Approximately 2 to 3 rooms of furniture and boxes    

  • 10' x 15' Approximately 3 to 4 rooms of furniture. Boxes, small sports car   

  • 10' x 20' One car garage size. 5 to 6 rooms of furniture, commercial storage   

  • 10’ x 30’ Longer than a single car garage   

  • We also have rear outdoor parking for RVs, boats, cars and trailers.

 

When is my monthly payment due and how can I pay?

• Rent is due the on or before the FIRST day of the month. There is a 7 day grace period. A late fee will apply on the 8th day after payment is due.  Checks may be mailed to or click HERE to make a payment through PayPal.

From Reno:

• Take I-80 E. (1.0 mi)

• Merge onto US-395 N via EXIT 15 toward SUSANVILLE  ***Crosses into California. (23.9 mi) 

• Take the CA-70 exit, EXIT 8, toward PORTOLA/QUINCY. (0.2 mi)     

• Turn LEFT onto CA-70. (24.9 mi)

• 74464 STATE ROUTE 70.  Your destination is 0.1 miles past PORTOLA HILN.      If you reach SIERRA ST you've gone a little too far

From Truckee:

• Take CA-89. (22.9 mi)

• Turn LEFT onto CA-49/CA-89.  (4.9 mi)  Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto CA-89.

• CA-89 is just past MEADOW LN (3.0 mi)

• Turn RIGHT onto CALPINE RD.  CALPINE RD is just past MEADOW RANCH RD  (1.3 mi)
